Patricia I. Negonsott, 74, Lancaster, Kansas, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Patricia was born September 3, 1940, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Hazel Berniece Biginwalt Hayes. She attended school in Atchison.

She and Emery Negonsott were united in marriage in May of 1963, and later divorced. She and Terrance Hawbacker became close companions and shared their life together for many years.

Patricia worked many years ago for the former Thompson’s Restaurant in Atchison and later for Golden Star, Kickapoo Senior Citizens center as a cook, housekeeping at different motels in the area, Breadeaux Pizza and convenience stores in the area. She devoted most of her life to the care of her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Negonsott, Lancaster, KS, and John Negonsott, Atchison, KS, five daughters, Laura J. Pahmahmie, Horton, KS, Violet Reese, Atchison, KS, Delores C. Gormly, Atchison, KS, Rebekah E. Curtis, Weston, MO, Jennifer R. Collins, Effingham, KS, a sister, Judith M. Prohaska, Atchison, KS, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Pahmahmie, two brothers, Walter Hayes, Norman Hayes, and two sisters, Barbara Craig and Jeanette Hayes.
