Ethel Nitzsche, 74, of Rulo, NE, passed away October 31, 2014 at Rulo. She was born November 24, 1939 at Table Rock, NE to the late William and Vera (Waters) Furrow. 

She married Samuel A. Cockerham on August 19, 1971 at Auburn, NE. He passed away January 19, 1980. On May 1, 1980 she married Wilbur Nitzsche at Oregon, MO.

Ethel was raised at Table Rock and after her schooling she provided elderly and handicap care in Omaha. When married to Mr. Cockerham the couple established their home in Salem. When she married Mr. Nitzsche they established their home in Rulo. She was a homemaker and did various jobs in and around the Rulo area.

Ethel is survived by her husband, Wilbur of Rulo, son, Samuel (Justina) Cockerham of Rulo, daughter, Karen (Howard) Carriger of Manchester, IL, brother Eugene Waters of Table Rock and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and a brother, Charles Furrow.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery.

 Open visitation will begin Monday.
