Celia Lillian May Masquat-Flood 95, of Horton, Kansas passed away on October 3, 2014 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas.

She was born on May 7, 1919 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Thomas and Alvina Payer Masquat. Lillian Flood was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas. Lillian’s life was full of love, laughter, travel, family and friends. Lillian grew up on a family farm in Emerson, NE. She went to an Indian boarding school at the Winnebago Agency, St. Augustine. After high school, Lillian attended Haskell Indian Junior College where she met and married Charles Henry Flood, Rosebud Sioux. Lillian was a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. In 1976 Lillian Flood opened, owned and operated The Little Indian Center on the Haskell campus until she retired in 1986. From there, she worked at New York Elementary school as a Lunch Lady. Lillian was a master seamstress and Star Quilt maker. Lillian May Flood was the best Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Great Great Grandma, Auntie and Friend. All who knew her were blessed.

She is survived by her sister, Lucile Rowley of Sioux City, Iowa; daughter: Charlene Flood- Johnson of Horton, Kansas; Grandchildren: Jamie Kelley and Monica Hasvold, Great Grandchildren: Dacotah Hasvold, Wyatt Hasvold, Jax Kelley, Criox Kelley, Great Great Grandson: Everett Hasvold and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery (24/40 Hyway , TeePee Juction, Lawrence, KS)on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M Followed by Open House Memorial at 713 Hickory St. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
