Edna Woodall

Edna I. Woodall, 92, formerly of Netawaka, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
 
She was born December 5, 1921 in Douglas, Arizona, the daughter of Herman and Talitha Porter Anderson. She graduated from Horton High School in 1939 and attended Washburn University.
 
Edna worked at many jobs over the years including Certified Nurses Aide at the Hiawatha Infirmary, and working at the Golden Eagle Casino.  She had also sold Avon products for many years.
 
She was a member of the Netawaka United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.  Edna had been a Republican Committee chairperson and proudly remembered working on "Ike's" Presidential campaign.
 
She married Bernard H. "Red" Woodall on December 8, 1940 in Topeka.  He died May 14, 2003.
 
Edna was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Anderson and Robert Anderson, a sister, Opal Milford, and a son-in-law, Lawrence P. Ireland.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Mencl and husband Jerry, Holton, and Linda Ireland, Topeka; five grandchildren, Dennis McDaniel, Jeff McDaniel and wife Kathy, Pam Hossfeld and husband Perry, Doug Ireland and Brent Ireland; two nieces, Debbie Milford, and Barb Whaley and husband Bud; two nephews, Gary Gillman and wife Cindy, and Brad Whaley and daughter Hannah; two step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two step-great grandsons.
 
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.  Family and friends will meet from 9:30 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow the service in the Muscotah Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Medicalodges Jackson County, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
