Melita Rempe

Melita C. Rempe, 79, of Seneca, formerly of Corning, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Life Care Center in Seneca.

Melita was born August 26, 1935, at the Sabetha Hospital to William E. and Agnes M Hermesch Rempe. She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and Corning High School. After she graduated she helped her parents on the farm before moving to Topeka for 35 years. She retired in 1989; she worked at various restaurants as kitchen help. She returned to Nemaha County and moved to Terrace Heights in Seneca and in 2009 she moved to Life Care Center in Seneca.

She was an avid reader and loved to embroidery, especially tea towels and blocks for quilts.

She is survived by her siblings, Leonard (Norita) Rempe of Hutchison, John (Gladys) Rempe of Corning, Frank (Jean) Rempe of Omaha, Edith (Bernie) Deters of Baileyville, Dorothy (Leon) White and Mary Jane (John) Engelken both of Centralia. 

A rosary will be prayed on Sunday, September 28th at 2PM at Lauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning at 10:30 AM Monday, September 29, 2014.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
