Dwight Lee McKinney, 67, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born on December 30, 1946 in Mayetta, Kansas the son of Henry and Anna (Rhodd) McKinney. Dwight grew up in Kansas and graduated from Powhattan High School. He furthered his education in automotive technician school at Haskell Technichal College in Lawrence, Kansas. Dwight also attended the University of Kansas. He loved technology, the sciences, and always embraced the future. He led a very private life for the most part. Dwight was always fun to be around and known to be quite the jokester. He was also very handy. Dwight could fix anything...especially automobiles. His grandchildren were always impressed with his physical agility. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters He is survived by his wife Linda; his son Michael D. McKinney and wife Gina, and their 3 children Dakota, William, and Johnathan; and his daughter Teva A. McKinney and her daughter Maysen McKinney-Smith. Kennekuk Church Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Kickapoo Community Building.
