Alma Fitzgerald, 84, of Topeka, KS passed away September 11, 2014 at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born August 18, 1930 in Mayetta, KS the daughter of Howard Elbert and Lillie Marie (Reynolds) Ray.

Alma graduated from Mayetta High School. She worked as a secretary for the State of Kansas and later part-time for Royal Valley Grade School. She had also worked for Southwest Publishing in Topeka. Alma was a member of Mother Theresa Catholic Church in Topeka.

She married William Francis Fitzgerald on April 4, 1951 in Dallas, TX. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1994. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Thelma Hagen, Lillie Beth Baxter and Lois Brown and 2 brothers, Arthur and Eldon Ray.

Survivors include a son, Rich Fitzgerald of Topeka; a daughter, Linda Fitzgerald-Simoneau of Topeka; a grandson, Colton Simoneau of Topeka and many nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Mayetta Cemetery.
