Christopher John Schuetz, 31, of Gardner, KS, formerly of Holton, passed away August 27, 2014 after complications from heart surgery. He was born January 2, 1983 in Topeka the son of Russ and Gay (Lott) Schuetz.

Chris graduated from Holton High School in 2001 and from Cowley County College in 2003. He also attended Pittsburg State University.  He worked for Parks and Recreation for the City of Leawood as an Arborist for 8 years. He also was a security guard for Allied Barton in Overland Park. Chris was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

He married Stephanie Garner on November 21, 2013 in Olathe. She survives of the home. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Cara; his parents, Russ and Gay Schuetz of Holton and 3 brothers, Brad Schuetz (Stacy) of Wichita, Chad Schuetz of Wichita and Adam Schuetz (Melissa) of Wellsville; nieces and nephews, Alex, Taylor, Brooklyn, Isabelle, Ashton, Preston, Adilynn, Tavin and Zoey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery at Mercier. Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Friday evening at the church with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Chris Schuetz Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
