DeeAnn Sheldon

DeeAnn Jeanette Sheldon, 71, of Holton, KS passed away August 25th, 2014 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born April 18th, 1943 in Hutchinson, KS the daughter of Herb and Marguerite (Mendenhall) Freidenberger.

DeeAnn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics at Emporia State University. DeeAnn was a Home Economics teacher at Jackson Heights High School, owner and operator of the Fabric Nook, reporter for The Holton Recorder, and was a Court Services Officer for the Second Judicial District until retirement. In retirement she was a Silpada Jewelry Sales Representative.

DeeAnn was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church where she was an organist for many years. She was also a member of Chapter P, PEO Sisterhood, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Beck-Bookman Library Board, Holton Business Women, and a member of Holton Chamber of Commerce.

DeeAnn married Jack Sheldon on August 17, 1963 in Hutchinson. He survives of the home. Other survivors include daughter, Tami Coe (Michael) of Logan, UT; 2 sons: Stephen Sheldon (Lana) of Holton, KS and Jarrod Sheldon (Leah) of Wamego, KS; 2 sisters: Suzanne Paschall of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada and Melinda Cook (Tom) of Overland Park, KS; a brother, Ron Freidenberger (Sheila) of Rogers, AR and 10 grandchildren: Heidi, James, Casey and Andrew Coe; Sonora, Walker and Cooper Sheldon; and Ellie, Maddie and Dane Sheldon. DeeAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Danny.      

 Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30th, 2014 at the Evangel United Methodist Church, Holton, KS with burial to follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
