Ardith Lucille Bohnenkemper, 88, of Holton, KS passed away August 5, 2014 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born October 4, 1925 in Holton the daughter of George Paul and Iva Faye (Hinman) Holsapple.

Ardith graduated from Denison High School in 1943. She was a lifelong resident of Holton and Denison communities. Ardith was a homemaker and housewife. In her earlier years she worked as a secretary for Dr. Griffith’s Veterinarian office in Holton and as secretary for Topeka Shawnee County Health Department; she was also a draft board operator for Adjutant General’s Office in Topeka. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Lutheran Ladies Missionary League both in Holton.

She married Glenn Henry Bohnenkemper on March 16, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a son Glenn Paul Bohnenkemper and a daughter, Linda Faye Bohnenkemper.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Lovell (Lonnie) and a son, Steven Roy Bohnenkemper both of Holton; 2 grandchildren, Ron Lovell and Malinda Lovell; 4 great-grandchildren, Brittany Hare (Brad), Clint Lovell, Timmy Smith and Larissa Lovell and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Jayden Hare.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
