Perley Anthony Seaton

Perley Anthony Seaton, 92, of Holton, KS passed away July 17, 2014 at Community Hospital in Onaga. He was born April 19, 1922 near Emmett, KS the son of Thomas Locke and Carrie Anna (Zima) Seaton.

Perley graduated from Emmett High School in 1939 and received his mechanical engineering degree from Kansas University. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. Perley worked for the State of Kansas highway department for 30 years and has also worked for Goodyear Rubber and Tire Company and Santa Fe Railroad.

Perley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Emmett and a member of V.F.W. Post 1367 in Holton.

He married Marie Jackson Malmberg on October 24, 1948 in Alamosa, Co; they later divorced. He then married Lenora Simmons on August 9, 1969 in Emmett. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2013. He was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Natalie Jo Howerton; 2 sisters, Viola Nester and Mildred Blaker and a brother, Thomas Seaton.

Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Seaton Felps of Topeka, KS; a step-daughter, Kathy Shupe of Holton, KS; 2 step-sons, Alan Simmons of Soldier, KS and Dennis Malmberg of Holton, KS; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Perley requested casual dress. Family will greet friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will full Military Honors will be in the St. Clere Cemetery near Emmett.
